FIRE ISLAND RUNS - EXCELSIOR M.C.
Excelsior M.C. was founded in 1975 by four courageous characters - Terry McNulty, David Talbot, Rich Dicurci and Wally Wallace. The four guys spent a leather weekend on Fire Island sponsored by Cycle M.C. with participants from around the world. Partnering with Empire City M.C. a draft constitution was established and the group name would soon be focused on the New York State motto, "Excelsior," which means "ever upward".
In 2000, Excelsior M.C did their first Fire Island Run to celebrate their yearly annivesary. It's now a yearly staple in the calendar of events that Harbor Masters attend.
